In this bulletin from yesterday’s Bee we hear about the continued focus on flood preparedness through a report on the meeting being held at CSUS, which is the 11th held since Katrina, and over 10,000 people have attended the series, which is great news.
Here is the bulletin.
Emergency preparedness to be discussed

SACRAMENTO - The city will conduct another emergency preparedness meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the University Union Ballroom at California State University, Sacramento.
This will be the city's 11th such meeting, and the first during daytime hours. Flood-control, police and fire officials will be on hand to describe emergency preparedness plans and to answer questions.
The city began the sessions last fall after the Gulf Coast was hit with flooding from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Because Sacramento faces serious flooding risks, Mayor Heather Fargo and other city officials want people in Sacramento to understand the dangers and be prepared for a possible crisis.
About 10,000 people have attended the meetings so far, said Jessica Hess, media and communications specialist for the city's Department of Utilities.
More meetings will be held, Hess said.
