In today’s Bee, Scene section, among several slices of the good things about Sacramento was this very nice one about the Parkway.

I took a trip to a magical place today.
Clumps of bright poppies, wild purple lupine sprinkled about. Birds warbling their song; the rushing of water.
Some kids pull a faded red dinghy up to an island to explore. A flock of geese honks noisily nearby. A 5-year-old boy wobbles by on his new bike. Laughter floats through the air as friends picnic. A butterfly lights on my shoulder.
When was the last time you visited this magical place? Sacramento's jewel -- the American River Parkway.
