A man walking along a bike path in the American River Parkway on Wednesday morning found the body of an unidentified man in a thick patch of bushes, less than 100 yards away from where a body was found last month, police said.
The walker made the grisly discovery just after 11 a.m. near Del Paso and Northgate boulevards, said Sgt. Terrell Marshall. There were no obvious signs of foul play, but Marshall said investigators are treating the case as a suspicious death.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, Marshall said.
The man had been dead for at least one day, Marshall said. A county parks maintenance crew reported Tuesday finding a stolen pickup truck near where the body was found, but police do not believe the stolen truck is related to the body, Marshall said.
The discovery came one day after the two teenagers charged in the death of a 62-year-old Los Molinos man found nearby were arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court, authorities said.
