Sacramento police are investigating a brawl on the shores of the American River that sent three people to the hospital Wednesday night.
Police first received a call about 9:25 p.m. that a man was walking along the La Riviera Drive onramp to northbound Howe Avenue covered in blood and carrying a knife, Lt. Gina Haynes said. A few minutes later, another call came in saying there was a gunshot victim at the boat launch to the river at Howe Avenue.
Responding officers found neither a man covered in blood nor a gunshot victim, but they did come across the scene of where a fight involving two groups of people had taken place.
Three people were hospitalized, including one man who was hit with a baseball bat, Haynes said. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
No arrests had been made in the case as of Thursday morning.
